A bird in the hand? No, let’s stick to balm!
Dry, cracked, sore hands? Ask yourself, what are you actually using on them? What are you doing to help them?
Since Covid times, so many of us are washing our hands so much more, often using antibacterial washes. I bet if you go into your bathroom now and look at your hand wash it will say it contains Sodium Laurel Sulphate (SLS). This is a foaming agent that strips your skin of its natural oils, causing dry, itchy and irritated skin. This along with the cold weather and bingo! Your hands are dry and sore. Your nails? Well, they are also dry and peeling. Meaning a gel polish won’t last.
you may even find you get contact dermatitis.
Although this can be hard to avoid, there are things you can do to alleviate these issues at home and in Salon.
Firstly grab your Bampton House Scrub. With your hands dry, pop a small amount in your hand. With some lukewarm water add a little to the scrub and gently rub into both your hands. Focus on any areas of dryness, knuckles and around your cuticles. Gently rinse away and pat dry.
Get your Bampton House Cuticle Oil and apply a small amount around your cuticles in small circular motions. Massaging the nail will stimulate the nail bed and help with growth. The results with this oil are phenomenal. Also apply to any very dry patches of skin on your hands.
Finally, get your Bampton House Calm Mind Hand & Body Balm. Apply a small amount to both hands. If you have eczema prone hands then try the Bampton House Bump and Baby Balm.
Do this twice a week for beautifully soft and cared for hands. Spring is coming!
